What is a contact management app?
A contact management app keeps the people you deal with in one organised list, with their numbers, notes, labels and past conversations, so anyone can be found and called quickly. AutoDial CRM is a contact management app inside a call management app, built for phones that talk to customers.
The contacts app on a phone was designed for friends and family: a name, a number, maybe a photo. A business needs more from the same list. It needs to know where a person came from, what they bought, what was said last time and when to call again. It needs callers who were never saved to be captured anyway, and it needs one search that finds a customer by a word in a note, not only by name. AutoDial CRM adds those layers on top of the phone’s contacts. Every contact card carries call, WhatsApp and SMS buttons, and a WhatsApp voice or video call is one tap away there too. Any caller can become a lead with just a mobile number, then gain tags, a source, custom fields and a status. A single search box covers contacts, leads, remarks, reminders, chats and more, and shows each result as its full card. Each item above is drawn from the app’s 14 October 2026 feature list.

Contact management app: auto-save new callers
Most business phones are full of unsaved numbers that called once and were never labelled. With auto-save switched on, AutoDial CRM adds every first-time caller to your contacts a minute after hanging up, with a prefix of your choice, such as CAR or SHOP, at the front of the name. A week later, a number that would have been a bare string of digits shows up under a CAR name, ready to be renamed once you learn who it is. The switch can be turned off at any time, for example on a phone that also carries personal calls. Combined with caller ID that searches your own leads, clients and contacts before any online lookup, this means repeat callers are recognised from their second call onward.
Contact management app: tags, sources and search
Contact names are a poor place to store information. A better pattern is a plain name plus labels:
- Source: where the person came from, such as Walk-in, Referral, Website, Google, Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp, or one you create.
- Tags: anything you want to group by, such as a product, an area or “Fleet”. The tag sheet searches hundreds of tags, creates new ones from the search, and renames or merges duplicates.
- Custom fields: extra details such as vehicle model, budget or a GPS location.
- Status: where the person stands with you, from New to Regular client, in a pipeline you design.
Filters combine these, so “Walk-in, tagged Fleet, due today” is one view. Bulk edit adds or removes tags on many people at once. To move a list in, import Excel, CSV or JSON, with duplicate numbers dropped; to move it out, export leads to CSV. When those contacts become a sales pipeline, the lead management app page goes further, and the WhatsApp CRM page covers chats with the same people.
Contact management app vs CRM
| Need | Contact management app | CRM |
|---|---|---|
| Name and number | Yes, the core of it | Yes |
| Call, message and WhatsApp buttons | Usually | Varies; often only on mobile |
| Notes about each person | A notes field | Remarks per call, kept in order |
| Where the person came from | Rarely | Lead source on every record |
| Stage of the deal | No | A status pipeline |
| Next call or meeting | No | Follow-up reminders |
| Team sharing | Shared address books at most | Assignment, handover and owner view |
| AutoDial CRM | Contacts with call, WhatsApp and SMS actions | Leads, statuses, follow-ups and team logs in the same app |
Contact management app setup
- Download AutoDial CRM and work through its permission setup; Android users can also make it the default phone app.
- Switch auto-save for new callers on or off, and pick a short prefix for their names.
- Create the sources and tags you will actually use, no more than a dozen to start.
- Import existing customers from Excel or CSV, mapping your columns to name, number and custom fields.
- Put family and personal numbers on the excluded list so backup and automation skip them.
Contact management app limits
AutoDial CRM is built for business contacts, not for tidying a personal address book. It does not merge duplicate phone contacts, and ordinary phone contacts are not part of its backup, so keep your phone’s own contact sync on. Tags, history and backup apply to leads and clients, which is where business contacts belong. On iPhone, the app has every feature except the phone’s call log, so features built on calls, such as call log filters, are Android only. If you only need names and numbers synced between devices, a plain contacts app is cheaper and simpler, and if you mainly need to dial lists, see the auto dialer app.
Contact management app example
An illustration, not a named customer. A car service garage in Muscat, Oman, takes about 40 calls a day from drivers and small fleet owners. The front-desk phone held 2,000 contacts named things like “Toyota guy 2”. The owner switches on auto-save with the prefix CAR and imports his customer sheet with vehicle model as a custom field. Fleet customers get the tag Fleet; walk-ins get the source Walk-in. When a fleet manager with 6 pickups calls, the screen shows “Regular client” and the remark “Service due every 3 months”, and the receptionist books all 6 in one call. Each month the owner filters to Fleet and sends service reminders by WhatsApp from the contact cards.

Contact management app FAQ
How can I manage my contacts?
Manage contacts by keeping one record per person with a clear name, adding a note or tag that says who they are, and removing duplicates as you go. A contact management app does this for you with search, tags and a history of every call and message.
What is the best way to organize my contacts?
The best way to organize contacts is by what you need to find them by later: where they came from, what they bought and what stage they are at. Tags, lead sources and statuses do that better than long names typed into the phone book.
What is the best contact management app for a business that sells by phone?
For a business that sells by phone, the best contact management app names callers from your customer records and keeps every call, chat and note on the contact, which is the design behind AutoDial CRM. Both Android and iPhone are supported, and each contact carries call, WhatsApp and SMS buttons.
Is AutoDial CRM a contact management app?
Yes. AutoDial CRM is a contact management app that adds call, WhatsApp and SMS actions to every contact, can save new callers automatically and turns any number into a lead with tags, custom fields and history.
Is there a free contact management app for Android?
Yes. The contacts app on your Android phone is free and handles names, numbers and groups, and several free contact managers are on Google Play. AutoDial CRM is free to install, with its business features in a paid plan per user.
Does the contact management app work on iPhone?
Yes. AutoDial CRM's iPhone app has every feature except the phone's call log, so contacts, leads, tags, notes, WhatsApp and reminders all work. Features that read the call log, such as call history filters, are Android only.
Can I group contacts by tag or lead source?
Yes. Each lead can carry tags and a source such as Facebook, Google, Website, Referral or Walk-in, or a custom one, and filters combine several at once. A tag sheet searches hundreds of tags and can rename or merge them.
Can I see everything a customer and I have said in one place?
Yes. A single customer screen has tabs for calls, WhatsApp chats, remarks, reminders and the lead's details. The latest remark also appears on the screen the next time that customer calls.
How do I search contacts, notes and chats at once?
Type once into AutoDial CRM's search and it checks contacts, leads, calls, notes, reminders, chats, clients, products and templates together. Every hit is shown as its full card.
Are my customer contacts backed up if I lose my phone?
Your leads, clients, remarks and follow-ups are backed up to your AutoDial CRM account and return once you log in on another phone. Keep your phone's own contact sync turned on as well, because ordinary phone contacts are not listed in the app's backup.
Can I add a customer with only their mobile number?
Yes. A lead can be saved with nothing but the mobile number, and the name, requirement and other fields can be filled in later, by typing or by voice input.
How much does a contact management app cost with AutoDial CRM?
AutoDial CRM costs ₹299 per user a month billed every 3 months (₹897), or ₹199 per user a month billed yearly (₹2,388). In US dollars that is $3.79 or $2.79 per user a month.
Your next call is ringing.
Install AutoDial CRM, import your leads and let the dialer, the WhatsApp and the follow-up alarm do the remembering.
