Staff attendance app with live selfie and office location check
A staff attendance app is a mobile tool that records when each employee starts and stops work, checks they are really at work, and keeps the totals for the manager.
AutoDial CRM adds a live selfie punch, an office radius check and branch reports to the same app your team uses to call leads.
- Live selfie with a blink and a random-action check on every punch
- Office radius, hours, days off and late cut-off set for each branch
- Web report for any branch and dates, exported to Excel

What is a staff attendance app?
A staff attendance app lets employees punch in and out on their phones and records when and where each punch was made, replacing paper registers. AutoDial CRM is a staff attendance app built into a calling CRM, so the phone that dials leads also takes a live selfie punch and checks the office location.
Several of the attendance apps leading Google’s results in October 2026 are payroll tools. AutoDial CRM does a narrower job: attendance for teams that sell by phone and visit customers, where the person punching in is the same person making the calls. A punch needs a live selfie that passes a blink and random-action check, and the phone’s position is compared with the branch’s office radius. Each branch carries its own rules: radius, working hours, days off, late cut-off, half day, and whether a punch from outside the office counts. A punch made with no signal waits on the phone and uploads once it reconnects. During the day staff tap Break and Resume work, and every break is kept. The owner opens a web report for any branch and date range, with present, late and absent totals, and exports it to Excel. It runs on Android and iPhone, beside the auto dialer app your callers already use.
Staff attendance app benefits
Live selfie punch
A blink and a random action are asked for, so a saved photo cannot mark someone present.
Office location check
Every punch is compared with the geofence radius of that staff member's branch.
Rules for each branch
Hours, days off, late cut-off and half day are set office by office.
Punches without signal
A punch waits on the phone and uploads when the connection comes back.
Calls and attendance together
Sales staff mark the day on the same phone they use to dial and log leads.
Staff attendance app selfie check: blink and random action
A plain photo punch is easy to fool: someone holds up a colleague’s picture and the register shows them at work. The selfie step in AutoDial CRM asks for a live face that blinks and then performs an action picked at random for that punch. Because the action changes from one punch to the next, a picture or an old recording cannot know in advance what to do.
The location check runs on the same punch. The phone’s position is read and compared with the office radius set for the branch, so a punch shows both who was in front of the camera and whether they were where the rules expect.
Staff attendance app rules for each branch
Offices rarely keep the same hours, so the rules sit on the branch, not on the whole company. For every branch you set:
- Geofence radius: how far from the office a punch still counts as inside
- Working hours: when the day starts and ends
- Days off: the weekly days the branch is closed
- Late cut-off: the time after which a punch in is counted as late
- Half day: the branch’s rule for a shorter day
- Outside punches: whether a punch from beyond the radius is accepted, which suits field sales, or refused, which suits a desk team
Signal drops in car parks, lifts and older buildings. A punch made offline is held on the phone with its time and sent to the account when the phone is online again, so nobody is shown absent because of a dead zone.
Attendance app for staff: breaks and half days
Lunch, prayers, tea and errands all break up a working day. Staff tap Break as they step away and Resume work when they are back, and every break is saved with its length rather than only the day’s total. Hours worked then reflect real time on the job, and the half-day rule for the branch applies to short days.
For staff who drive between customers, live location also pauses during a break. The route, stops and kilometres side of the day is covered on the employee location tracking app page, so this page stays on attendance.
Employee attendance app reports on phone and web
Each employee has a report on the phone for today, the last 7 days, this month and last month, showing hours worked and breaks. It answers the usual question at month end (“how many hours did I put in?”) without a call to the office.
The owner works from the web. The attendance and field tracking report takes any branch and any date range and shows:
- present, late and absent totals
- each day’s punch in and punch out times
- hours worked and breaks taken
- kilometres covered, for staff with live location on
The whole report exports to Excel. Because the same account also holds every employee’s calls, a manager can set attendance beside calling activity; the calling side is explained on the call tracking app page.
Staff attendance app vs biometric machine
| Question | Staff attendance app (AutoDial CRM) | Biometric machine |
|---|---|---|
| Where staff punch | On their own phone, at the office or outside it if the branch allows | At the device, usually near the entrance |
| How presence is checked | Live selfie with blink and random-action check, plus office radius | Fingerprint or face at the device |
| Field and visiting staff | Can punch at a client site when outside punches are on | Have to come to the office to punch |
| Without internet | Punch saved on the phone and sent later | Depends on the model |
| Reports | Phone report for staff, web report with Excel export for the owner | Depends on the software sold with it |
| Hardware | None beyond the phones staff already carry | One device per entrance or site |
| Best for | Sales and field teams spread across branches | One fixed site where everyone passes the same door |
Staff attendance app setup
- Install AutoDial CRM on each staff member’s Android phone or iPhone and sign them in to the business account.
- For each branch, set the office radius, working hours, days off, late cut-off and half-day rule.
- Choose whether that branch accepts punches from outside the office: on for field sales, off for desk staff.
- Ask staff to punch in with the live selfie, use Break and Resume work during the day, and punch out when they leave.
- At month end, open the web report, pick the branch and dates, and export it to Excel.
Staff attendance app limits
AutoDial CRM has no payroll. It does not work out salaries, overtime pay, deductions or payslips, so a business that needs payroll should use a dedicated payroll app and feed it the Excel attendance export. There is also no shift roster or leave approval flow. The selfie step is a liveness check; if your auditors require fingerprint hardware or face matching against an enrolled photo, a biometric system is the better fit. It is built for employees, not for classroom or student attendance. Rules on collecting staff photos and location differ between countries such as Malaysia, the UK and India, so check your own before rollout (general information, not legal advice).
Staff attendance app example
An illustration, not a named customer. An insurance agency in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has 30 staff: 10 at the front desk and 20 agents who call leads in the morning and meet clients in the afternoon. The operations manager creates two branches. “KL Central” has a 100-metre radius, hours of 9 AM to 6 PM, Sundays off, a 9:30 AM late cut-off and outside punches turned off. “KL Field” uses the same hours but accepts punches from anywhere, so agents can start the day at a client’s office. In September the web report shows 4 late punches and 1 absence across the agents, with breaks averaging about 40 minutes a day. The manager exports the month to Excel and sends it to the payroll provider the agency already uses.

Staff attendance app FAQ
What is the best staff attendance app for a sales team?
The best staff attendance app for a sales team is one that lives on the phone the team already uses to call leads, and AutoDial CRM is built that way. Staff punch in with a live selfie and an office location check, then dial, log calls and take breaks in the same app.
Is AutoDial CRM a staff attendance app?
Yes. AutoDial CRM is a staff attendance app inside a calling CRM, with selfie punches, attendance rules for each branch, saved breaks and a web report with Excel export. It runs on Android and iPhone.
Which staff attendance app is free?
Several attendance apps advertise a free plan, but AutoDial CRM is not one of them. It is free to install, and the full plan, which includes attendance, calling and CRM, is priced per user.
Does AutoDial CRM calculate salary or payroll?
No. AutoDial CRM records attendance, hours and breaks but has no payroll, payslips or salary calculation. A business that needs payroll should use a payroll app, and can hand it the Excel attendance export.
Can someone mark attendance with a photo of a colleague?
No, a still photo should not get through. The selfie punch asks for a blink and a randomly chosen action, which a printed or saved picture cannot perform.
Does the attendance app work without internet?
Yes. A punch made with no signal is saved on the phone and sent to the account as soon as the phone is online again, so staff in a basement or a lift lobby are not marked absent.
Can staff punch in from outside the office?
Yes, if you allow it for their branch. Each branch has a setting for whether punches from outside the office radius are accepted, so a desk team can be held to the office while field staff punch in at a client's site.
How do I track attendance for staff who work in the field?
Let their branch accept punches from outside the office and ask them to punch in with the selfie where their day starts. For the route they drive and the kilometres, turn on live location, which only records between punch in and punch out.
Can I download the attendance report in Excel?
Yes. The web attendance and field tracking report covers any branch and any date range and exports to Excel, with present, late and absent totals and each day's punch times, hours and breaks.
Is there a staff attendance app for PC?
Staff mark attendance on their phones, and the owner reads the reports on the web in any browser on a PC or laptop. There is no separate desktop program to install.
Can staff with an iPhone mark attendance?
Yes. The selfie punch, branch rules, offline punches, breaks and reports all work on iPhone as well as Android, so a mixed team uses one system.
How are lunch and tea breaks recorded?
Staff tap Break when they step away and Resume work when they return, and every break is saved with its length. The phone report and the web report both show break time beside hours worked.
Can I set different office timings for each branch?
Yes. Working hours, days off, late cut-off, half day and the office radius are all set per branch, so a shop that opens at 10 AM and a head office that opens at 9 AM each follow their own rules.
How much does a staff attendance app cost with AutoDial CRM?
AutoDial CRM costs ₹299 per user a month billed every 3 months (₹897), or ₹199 per user a month billed yearly (₹2,388). In US dollars that is $3.79 or $2.79 per user a month.
Your next call is ringing.
Install AutoDial CRM, import your leads and let the dialer, the WhatsApp and the follow-up alarm do the remembering.
