Click to call for people who sell from a desk and a mobile

Click to call from Chrome, dialled by your own phone

Click to call is a feature that starts a phone call when someone clicks a number, link or button on a screen, so nobody has to type the digits.

The AutoDial CRM Chrome extension passes a number you click in Chrome to your phone, and the phone places the call from your own SIM.

  • Click a number in Chrome and your phone rings it out
  • Pick the SIM, auto-call and speaker settings you want
  • Leads closed this way show as click to call in the Done tab

What is click to call?

Click to call is a way to start a phone call by clicking a number, link or button instead of typing the digits. AutoDial CRM brings click to call to Chrome through its own extension, so a number clicked on the computer is dialled by your phone.

The AutoDial CRM Chrome extension connects two places where sales work happens: the browser, where enquiries, emails and lead lists sit, and the mobile phone, where the calls actually go out. Click a phone number in Chrome and the phone starts the call over its SIM. The person you ring sees your mobile number, the call goes over your normal mobile plan, and there is no VoIP account, headset or rented office line to set up. Three settings shape each call: which SIM to use on a dual-SIM phone, auto-call, and speaker. Once the call ends, AutoDial CRM treats it like any other call made through the app, and a lead completed this way is labelled click to call in the Done tab. The owner confirmed on 14 October 2026 that dialling from a computer works through a Chrome extension. The rest of the product is described on the auto dialer app page.

Click to call benefits

  • No typing numbers

A click replaces reading digits off the screen and keying them into a phone.

  • Your own mobile number

The call leaves from your SIM, so customers see a number they can save.

  • No extra calling account

Calls ride on your mobile plan rather than a VoIP or cloud line.

  • Settings that stick

SIM, auto-call and speaker preferences are chosen once.

  • Credit in the Done tab

Leads finished by click to call are labelled that way for the team.

Click to call from browser: how it works

Click to call from browser tools fall into two camps: those that turn the computer into a phone, and those that hand the number to a phone you already carry. The AutoDial CRM extension is the second kind. The browser is only the starting point; the call itself is a normal mobile call.

  1. You see a phone number in Chrome, for example on an enquiry email or a lead list.
  2. You click it, and the extension passes it to your phone.
  3. Your phone dials the number using the SIM, auto-call and speaker settings you chose.
  4. You talk on the phone, and the call is handled by AutoDial CRM like any other.

Because the phone does the dialling, nothing about the call depends on the computer’s sound, microphone or internet calling quality.

Click to call with SIM, auto-call and speaker settings

Three settings decide how a clicked number becomes a call. SIM chooses the line on a dual-SIM phone, so business calls can always leave from the business SIM; inside the app you can also pick a SIM per call or set a default. Auto-call and speaker are set the same way, once, so each click behaves the way you prefer. On Android, AutoDial CRM can be the phone’s default dialer or run in CRM team mode beside the usual one, and either way the after-call sheet opens when the call ends so the status, remark and follow-up are saved in two taps.

Click to call CRM: every Chrome click logged to the lead

A click to call CRM is worth having only if the call leaves a record behind. With AutoDial CRM the click happens in Chrome, but the record lives in the app: the after-call sheet stores the outcome against that lead, the next follow-up rings as an alarm, and the call joins the owner’s team call log with every other call of the day. When the lead is finished, the Done tab marks it as completed by click to call, so desk calls are never confused with dialer sessions or manual closes. Nobody has to copy notes from a browser tab into a spreadsheet afterwards.

Click to dial for a calling team

For a team, click to dial is useful only if the work it produces is visible. The Done tab lists worked leads and shows how each one was completed: by the auto dialer, by click to call, marked done by hand, or transferred. A manager can see at a glance how much of the day happened from desks and how much from the phone dialer, and the owner sees every employee’s calls in the team call log. People who spend part of the day calling from a list can switch to the telecaller app workflow, and the same leads can be dialled one after another with the CRM with dialer.

Click to call limits

This is click to call for outgoing calls from your own phone, so it suits a person at a desk with a mobile beside them. If you want visitors to ring you from your website, you need a click to call button or a tel: link on the site, not this extension. If your team works without mobiles, on headsets in a call centre, a softphone or a cloud calling service fits better. The extension is built for Chrome, so teams on other browsers should check before relying on it. The iPhone app has every feature except the phone’s call log, so call history from these calls is fullest on Android.

Click to call example

An illustration, not a named customer. A tuition centre in Singapore sells a term of classes for S$1,000 (about US$780). Its one course adviser spends the morning at a laptop reading about 40 web enquiries a day in Chrome. Before, she copied each number into her phone and misdialled a few every week. With the AutoDial CRM extension she clicks the number on the enquiry, her phone rings it from the business SIM with speaker on, and she books trial classes while the page is still open. After each call she saves the outcome, such as Trial booked or Call back, on the after-call sheet. By Friday the Done tab shows about 150 leads closed by click to call, and the centre manager sees every one in the team call log.

FAQ

Click to call FAQ

  1. What does click-to-call mean?

Click-to-call means starting a phone call by clicking a number, link or button instead of dialling it by hand. It appears on websites, in sales software and in browser extensions, and it is also called click to dial.

  2. How does click to call work?

A click on a number hands it to something that can place a call, such as the visitor's phone, a softphone on the computer or a linked mobile. With the AutoDial CRM Chrome extension the number goes to your phone, which dials it over its SIM.

  3. What is the best click to call option for a team that sells from mobile phones?

The best click to call option for a mobile sales team lets the salesperson's own phone place the call, so customers see a familiar mobile number and the call joins the phone's history. AutoDial CRM's Chrome extension works this way.

  4. Is AutoDial CRM a click to call tool?

Yes. AutoDial CRM offers click to call through its Chrome extension, which sends a number clicked in Chrome to your phone to dial. Leads finished this way are marked as click to call in the app's Done tab.

  5. Is click to call free?

The click itself costs nothing, but the call is billed by whoever places it. With AutoDial CRM the call goes over your mobile plan, and the app is charged per user; with a softphone you usually pay a calling provider for minutes.

  6. Does click to call use my mobile number?

Yes, when your phone places the call. With the AutoDial CRM extension the person you ring sees the number of the SIM you chose, not a rented office line.

  7. Do I need a VoIP account for click to call?

No, not when the call is placed by your phone. A softphone or a website call widget usually needs a VoIP or cloud calling account, while phone-dialled click to call only needs your normal mobile plan.

  8. What is the difference between click to call and a softphone?

Click to call is the act of starting a call with a click, while a softphone is a calling app that runs on the computer itself. A softphone can be the thing that answers a click, but so can your mobile phone, which is how AutoDial CRM does it.

  9. Is click to call the same as click-to-call ads?

No. Click-to-call ads are an advertising format that puts a call button in an ad so a shopper can ring the business. Click to call for sales teams is about calling out from your own screen.

  10. Can I turn off click to call in Chrome?

Yes. Any click to call extension can be switched off or removed on Chrome's extensions page, and Chrome's site settings let you change which app handles phone links.

  11. How much does click to call cost with AutoDial CRM?

AutoDial CRM costs ₹299 per user a month billed every 3 months (₹897), or ₹199 per user a month billed yearly (₹2,388). In US dollars that is $3.79 or $2.79 per user a month.

Your next call is ringing.

Install AutoDial CRM, import your leads and let the dialer, the WhatsApp and the follow-up alarm do the remembering.
